Building a team identity
While creating Lords of Football we encountered a lot of cornerstones, choices that affected in a massive way the game and its identity. Once we made the decision not to pursue official licenses in order to gain the freedom to create a unique experience, it was also clear that we should avoid the classical football management game approach. Lords of Football is not focused on your career, it's about your team and so choosing the correct squad will massively affect your experience, since their destiny will be tightly linked with your own. You can choose to start with a strong team or a weaker one, according to your desired difficulty level and then you will be free to fully customise them.
Once you choose a name for your team you will be able to create your own logo and kits using our powerful editor, to build your team's identity. You will be able to set colours and patterns for your home and away kits (including that of the goalkeepers) and combine all the different elements available for each part of a kit (shirt, shorts and socks), you will be able to create thousands of different solutions. For example, we have 47 different shirt patterns that can be freely mixed together! if you're not a customisation fanatic, you can simply use standard kits or the randomise option...
Your choices will have an effect on the 3D world. You will see your team playing with your custom kits during matches, but the main colours will also characterise the city, the training facilities and the supporters of your team. So, this tool will not affect the game flow but for sure will improve your gaming experience. At the end, it's all done to style, have you got it?
