What is the most common way to interact with a football simulation where you control a team? Well, we are usually presented by tons of statistics to study, determining the skills of footballers, the effectiveness of the tactics and the chances of victory.
But even if numbers are important to simulate football (and Lords of Football doesn’t miss this point, rest assured!), the football experience is much more than that. It is experienced at pitch level, where the footballers train, play and perform. The information is presented in a rich 3D environment where you have direct visual feedback and control over your footballers actions..
Lords of Football gives you the chance to live the football experience at 360°. The rich, real-time rendered 3D world is at your service to help you see, touchand control every aspect of the game. From your bird’s eye perspective, you can roam freely around the world; from the team’s home town to the training grounds. You are free to rotate your point of view to inspect the surroundings and if you need to check something in higher detail, you can zoom in to get a closer look at the action! You can determine the level of zoom you prefer, just to have a glance at what is happening during a particular exercise, to follow the errands of a particular player or just to enjoy the rendering of the streets, trees and other venues in the game. In combination to this freedom of movement, we have worked to develop an intuitive interface to make it as easy as possible for you to control the world, tackling the challenges that you are faced with by your team.
The 3D world isn't just for eye candy, it's a dynamic simulated environment that presents it's own challenges and rewards. You can witness exactly what your athletes are doing in their everyday life. Is your footballer improving his skills in shooting or passing? You can check his results in real time, seeing for yourself if more shots are going to end in the goal or if he is still missing chances! You can set up your training ground as you wish, best suiting the needs of your footballers. Did your team struggle to keep the ball in the last match? Place a possession training exercise on the pitch, then drop your footballers on to the exercise and watch them improve their skills.
As the seasons change you may find the weather isn't good enough for training outside, in which case you'll have to find indoor training exercises for your footballers. You can enter all of the buildings in your training ground to access the information and training exercises inside them. Check how the physiotherapist is treating your injured footballers and see their reactions why they're being treated, or enter the locker room and set up a tactical lesson to improve their overall team-working skills.
As day turns to night, you can follow your footballers into the town; to the restaurant, in the disco or even at the casino. You will need to keep an eye on their behaviour, their satisfaction and their expectations. See them dancing if they're happy, see them in frustration if the chocolate fountain at the chocolate party is not meeting their taste. If you do your job well, your team will be ready to take on any challenge and with your teams success will come rewards; new activities and upgrades to your training facilities.
